Remembrance Day at McKenzie Towne School

With the weather changing and the furnace turning on, it is time to start thinking about how to commemorate Remembrance day in our school, and so the MTSPA is putting a call out to our families to see if you might know some talented bloke who will attend our school for a Remembrance Day assembly and gift us with their talent of playing the bagpipes.  If you are able to play, or know someone who could play for our school community, please contact Jenn at chair@mtsparents.com

Happy Fall McKenzie Towne Families!

It is almost that time of year, the leaves are falling and the mornings are brisk.  Thank you to all who attended our September meeting last Monday.  Our next meeting will be Monday, October 24th, 2016.  Speaking of October, Trickster is coming!  As a parents group, we are very excited about another amazing Trickster residency in McKenzie Towne School this fall.  Unfortunately, due to the timing of the event, the MTSPA is not able to host our usual Halloween event, the Halloween Howl.  We know that many of you will be disappointed, but don't worry, keep your eyes and ears peeled for a new family fun event coming later in the school year.

The ADamazing Coupon Books are flying off the shelf!  This is a very valuable fundraiser for McKenzie Towne School.  Nearly half of the funds raised come directly to our school and the programs and activities our students get to participate in!  The deadline for this fundraiser is September 30th, 2016. 

We are pleased to continue our partnership with Cobs Bakery, remember to tell them you are with McKenzie Towne School, and they will donate a portion of your sale to our school!  It's that easy!

Another great sponsor to our Parents Association is Mabel's Labels.  Simply click on the link and order some of the most amazing labels for your kids "stuff".  (We've already been to the lost and found twice this year!!)

Welcome Back Mckenzie Towne Families!

I don't know about you, but today was FULL!!  Welcome back to school, and welcome back to your Parents' Association.  We look forward to meeting you and greeting you on Thursday morning at the annual Muffin Mixer...rain or shine!  Come join us at the back of the school for a coffee and a muffin, grab a timmies on the go!  A representative from State Farm will be on site to answer any questions you might have about your Insurance needs.  More than anything, this is a great opportunity to meet the other parents in our school community and check out your awesome Parents' Association!

Look forward to a flood of information, ADmazing Coupon Books, (formerly SUTP), Casino Updates, School Information and important dates. 

Our first meeting is set for this coming Monday, September 12th at 6:30 pm in the teachers lounge.  We hope you can make it out!

Catching up before the end of the school year!

This year has gone by in whirlwind of activity!  It has been my pleasure to serve as your key communicator and I look forward to another years of bringing you news from our meetings.  I hope to see you all at the Muffin Mixer, Thursday September 8th!  Some of you have already signed up for a Casino shift in August, but there are  few spots left to fill in.  Sign up Genius requests will be resent this week to fill in those positions.  As always, thank you for your support!  You are the motion behind what makes the vehicle of school councils and parents associations work!
