April News

The April newsletter is now available for reading.  There are some good reminders about crosswalk safety and lunchtime supervision, a note from Mr. Snashel about what the different grades are learning in music and a great article about the recent grade 4 field trip to the landfill and recycling centre.  Also, make sure to check out the April calendar for school activities and important dates to remember.  You can also always view our calendar on this website for information about what is happening at school as well as fundraising and playground committee meetings, and CBE and CAPSC meetings.  The calendar can be found on the left side of this page.

CBE System Parent Meeting

On March 10th, the CBE held a System Parent Meeting that I attended.  Many of the trustees were there and gave presentations on a variety of subjects, including the role of a trustee, current provincial initiatives by Alberta Education, curriculum changes, budget and infrastructure.  The evening was interesting and informative.  The presentations can be viewed on the CBE's website by clicking here.

An engagement opportunity exists for parents as the CBE plans its move into its new location.  They are holding sessions with parents, including one on March 19th at Sir Winston Churchill High School from 1:45-4:30 to discuss the role of the CBE, the relationship between the board, the classroom and parents and audience perspectives on these subjects.  If you are interested in having your opinions heard, please feel free to attend.
