RAISE MONEY FOR McKENZIE TOWNE SCHOOL THROUGH COBS 130TH

McKenzie Towne School Parent Association has signed up for a "Dough Raiser" program with COBS Bread 130th Avenue SE location. This program enables us to raise money for our school throughout the year on purchases that many of us are already making!

All that you need to do is mention "McKenzie Towne School" each time you make a purchase at the 130th Ave location. COBS will automatically donate 5% of your purchase back to our school!
Feel free to tell your friends & neighbours too - any purchase made at this location is eligible for our program. You don't need to be a parent at our school.
Thank you for helping us making this program a success!

The Halloween Party was a huge success!  Much fun was had by all, children and adults alike.

This year there were games and activities in the common areas which allowed us to accommodate more families at the dance.  A big thank you to all the volunteers and to all who attended to help raise money for our school and for Habitat for Humanity.

Thank you to everyone who came to our second meeting of the 2013-2014 school year.  In the School Council meeting last night there are several highlights we wanted to share.  The results of the PAT scores were discussed in relation to MTS, the CBE and the Province.  This years results showed great improvement. To see the results click to be transferred to the CBE results webpage

In the Teachers Report,  Miss Young and Mrs. Kivi shared with us a video they created and shared with the school at the Grade 3 Assembly.  We were able to see some incredible art work along with being told what is being focused on in Social Studies and Science for the Grade 3 Students.

The Leadership Report expanded on the PAT results showing where our students excelled and where the focus will be next for MTS students.   Also of interest to parents will be that there will a new reporting process.  More details to come at a later date...
We are happy to report that our newly re-elected Mr. Shane Keating is looking into helping us obtain appropriate signage for the front of the school.  He will meet with the Parent Association to advise what the signage will look like.

The Parent Association had a fundraising update on the SUTP books - Thank you to everyone who bought, we have a few extra and will keep possibilities open for a few more days for those who still wish to purchase....
Our First Fun Lunch will happen Thursday November 21...details to follow in the near future.
The Halloween Dance is tomorrow evening, October 30.  It will be a fantastic, fun filled evening for families...please remember to bring your spare change for Habitat for Humanity!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
